Flexible working is really important to me and First Central are one of the best in this area. When I first started, I travelled in to the office weekly to build relationships and get settled in to a new company. This was easy to do as I could book desks and parking for the days that suited me to visit the office. I was also fully set up and supported to work from home the rest of the time. First Central recognised that I lived a significant distance away from the office and proactive chose to move me onto a remote contract, meaning that my travel was paid for should I need to go into an office. Having the freedom to choose the best location for the job I needed to do was empowering. On top of this flexibility of location, I have recently returned from maternity leave and have been trying to get to grips with a totally new routine - getting the household ready in the mornings, nursery drop offs and pick-ups, and getting everyone to bed on time whilst also doing a full-time job! First Central have been extremely supportive of this, allowing me to flex my hours to accommodate my daughter, and focusing on outcomes rather than hours. Overall I would say I have had a really positive experience with flexible working!
