I have been with First Central for 8 years now, so the onboarding experience has changed and advanced. What has remained however, is the importance to ensure new colleagues have what they need whether that be information or resources and know who to reach out to. Our Learning department provide excellent training to all new colleagues which will equip them with the knowledge they need. Most areas will then provide shadowing and the time to read up on our internal processes and procedures, which is similar to the onboarding I experienced.

My onboarding experience was good, I've been with the company almost 2 years, It felt efficient and easy, I was kept informed at each stage and help was available when required. There was a small issue with a misprint on my passport, I was called and we were able to sort this out on the phone.
There was Elearning available and lots of material/guides to read before my first day which I really liked.

My onboarding experience was also a good one. Note I have been with the company for almost 18 months. I am a remote worker and the appropriate IT equipment turned up when it should have and accessing systems was a breeze. My first few days involved regular conversations with my manager and being given a good amount of explore time around the intranet, understanding company objectives, relevant pillar objectives and immersing in the culture. I was also given the names of individuals I should consider reaching out to, which I did, to start forming those relationships and understand more about certain areas of the business. And of course, I started to engage with my manager on objectives and putting plans in place.

I can also add that post the initial onboarding, my experience was positive in terms of the learning curve. First Central is the company with the most approachable people (at all seniority) I have ever encountered, so if you ever have any questions/or need to be shown anything then people will help and set you on the right path.
